If so you can´t beat the bang for the buck of this 1998 Cadillac Catera. Clean, low mileage, well kept example of this fun car, and unlike similar low mileage examples you might find, this one isn´t hiding any gremlins under the bonnet. It was purchased new by my grandmother who passed it down to me last year. My grandfather used to own a repair shop and they babied it. They always kept it garaged, always changed the oil every 3,000 miles (interval is 5,000), serviced it regularly, etc. . .Since I was got the car I have replaced the front struts, the battery, the wipers, the oil cooler, timing belt, and the water pump. If you know these cars you know the oil cooler and water pump are the most likely things to fail, and you don´t have to worry anymore! The engine runs perfectly with absolutely no problems and recently passed NYS inspection. Frankly you won´t ever find a car like it in as good shape mechanically. The car has no rust (Florida car) and has never seen more damage than a small dent or scrape. When I took the car to the MJ Sullivan they said it was the nicest Catera they had seen in a long time. That said, the exterior has a couple dents, dings, scrapes and other imperfections. The interior is super clean and in very nice shape but the driver´s seat is worn and has a three inch tear (not in a stressed area and it isn´t growing). The leather on the rest of the interior is absolutely perfect and the car comes with a sheepskin cover for the driver seat. All the electronic and luxury features work!Car is located in Groton, CT near I-95. The goal was to lower the average age of Cadillac buyers and revitalize the brand. While it may carry amazing levels of luxury for the time and wear the Cadillac crest, in fact this car is an Opel Omega. Designed and built in Germany by GM´s European division for the quick European Autobahns and twisty back roads, the Omega was a successful model and BMW competitor in Europe. For the American market Cadillac added even more luxury to the Omega but left everything else basically the same.
